Zoe was portrayed in the medical records as being frail and old-old.  Gladys ( left at 2) was frail. Carol joked about Gladys taking Zoe along as a BODYGUARD.           There was absolutely zero information given to allow any informed decision-making by Carol.  Carol was Zoe's legally designated health surrogate.           Blake (Dr. Polanco) even forbade Carol access to her blind mother's medical records.

See this link for the picture and facts: http://www.spcpi.homestead.com/Zoea ndJeb.html   Zoe went from stable condition admission at Blake Medical Center (an HCA hospital) to death at the skilled nursing facility IHS in one month and it looks like her death was intentional to hide an adverse medical incident on hospital admission night (1/11/99).           A whole pack of "honorable doctors" seems to have joined in the falsification of material facts in the medical records.  Anywhere else this would be fraud.           In any other profession it would be elder abuse and extreme negligence.           AHCA, Florida's agency for health care administration, headed by Governor Jeb Bush,  has claimed that there was absolutely nothing wrong with Zoe's hospitalization or discharge and nursing home events.           Carol was, however, available to care for Zoe in her own home, yet was never offered that possibility!           Medical necessity is necessary for Medicare coverage.           Carol has filed a qui tam action  (False Claims Act)  against both Bradenton facilities in the federal court in Tampa.           She expects to lose, because she is bucking the system.  {She also has no lawyer}. The medical profession has over the years instituted unconstitutional laws. Doctors are not given "equal protection of the laws."  They appear above the law as illustrated in this case.  Ethical considerations appear totally missing.           In all crimes, the victims have a right to confront the accussed, except in the medical branch.  Victims are not allowed to see the "lies" the doctors present in their own defense.  There is no confrontation of disputed facts behind closed doors!

Zoe was a perfect mother - beautiful, intelligent, gracious and patient [and a great cook]!.  She  was Carol's best and truest fan.           She married an Austrian Baron after age 30 and had two children.  She was comfortable in the role of a homemaker.  She was an accomplished pianist and later became a librarian.           In her feminine role, she was able to run the whole show.  This is something, we young feminists (some now old) have difficulty in understanding.  Through femininity, most women have always run the show, despite the husband's pasha show of peacock grandeur.

1 - Zoe died at 88 (Her mother died at age 105). Zoe was relatively healthy. Doctors did not catch her 1st stroke (blindness) and left her wo/medication to prevent a second.  In the hospital / SNF, she also got no preventive medicine (coumadin) but such detrimental treatment that it cost her her life.  She died in extreme pain. 2 - Gladys died at age 95 after Zoe (She had only one kidney and developed CHF). 3 - Cass- survived a stroke and was older than Zoe. 4 - Betty visited Zoe at Blake and IHS.
